After an unusually warm summer, we now find ourselves in fall with all the
beautiful colors that accompany the shorter days and cooler nights.
And once again it is time to prepare the landscape for whatever the
winter ahead might have in store—hopefully not as cold, but a little wetter than
last winter. As you prepare to put
your yard to “bed”, check out the
Seasonal Tips under
Gardening Hints either for specific
articles with accompanying links or the month-to-month to-do-list.

“Fall is for Planting” is the theme for this fall at Phelan Gardens.
From trees to shrubs, perennials to bulbs, plants put in the ground
during the early fall will have time to establish themselves and will have a
head start on next year’s growing season.
Like to decorate your house for Halloween or Thanksgiving?
Phelan
Gardens has all the
traditional decorations for you to choose from.
Gourds, cornstalks bundles, hay bales, and pumpkins are available to
decorate inside or out.
And don’t forget the items to protect your landscape throughout the winter—tree
wrap, rose collars and lawn winterizer are all offered at Phelan Gardens

Finally,
remember we are open year-round!
So even if it is not the “growing season” as we think of spring
through fall, there is always something growing at Phelan Gardens.
Come by and see! It will put
a smile on your face and ideas in your mind.
