Seeding Needs

Vegetable & Flower Seed
Our vegetable, herb and flower seeds arrive in February. We carry only non-GMO types and try to offer a good supply of short-season varieties. Heirloom seeds are included in our mix. We also offer wildflower seeds for spring and fall sowings.

Seeding Supplies
Want to grow plants indoors or get a jump on your garden in Spring? Come see us for grow lights, heat mats, vermiculite/seed starting mixes, and seed trays. For those of you who only have space on a sunny windowsill, we carry a 36 cell 'skinny' seed starter kit. GREAT for starting flowers and veggies early.

Grass Seed
Although we don't carry sod, we do offer a good selection of grass seed that includes both bluegrass blends and native/prairie grasses.

Weed Prevention & Control
Whether you need to control weeds in your lawn, garden, or concrete areas...we have organic and traditional types of products.
Remember...pre-emergent weed killers applied in early Spring will help stop many of your weed seeds before they have a chance to sprout. (Just don't put it where you want to grow future seeds as it stops ALL seed from sprouting). Sprays are the typical means of controlling weeds later in the season. A GREAT organic means of controlling future weeds is by installing landscape fabric prior to planting. Just cut a cross hatch to make a hole when you are ready to plant! If you need some guidance...just ask...we'll try to give you a strategy that fits your needs.
